Olympic teammates Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross are the top women’s seeds, and Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena are the men’s third seeds, in this week’s season-opening Swatch Major Series beach volleyball tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The tournament is the first stop in the 2017 FIVB World Tour.

Walsh Jennings, a five-time Olympian and four-time Olympic medalist, and Ross, a two-time Olympic medalist, are joined by the teams of 2016 Olympian Brooke Sweat and Summer Ross, and 2016 Olympian Lauren Fendrick and Sara Hughes in the women’s main draw.

Joining Dalhausser, a three-time Olympian, and Lucena, a 2016 Olympian, in the men’s main draw are 11th-seeded John Hyden and Tri Bourne, 12th-seeded Jake Gibb and Taylor Crabb, and 15th-seeded Casey Patterson and Theo Brunner.

The championship matches are Sunday.
